Great story, Worth the Read

This is actually a really great story, it just needs some serious editing. Daughter misspelled as dotter, for example. That aside, the story is steamy and just what readers of this genre are looking for, in my opinion. Honestly, I would have given it 5 stars for steam factor and great story, but the lack of editing made me kick it down to 4 stars. I will look for more by this author.

Entertaining to read but ...

The writer is fluent in writing. It's very easy to read. However, I would like to see some indicators (like a little arrow) as to where the characteristics are that she is mentioning instead of just an signature or a few words from a paragraph. This makes it difficult to follow at some point. Also, one part of the analysis is about how the writer's writing in relation to the space in a page. At times, the author would start to talk about how the writing takes up space or not when there is no boundaries for us to see on the page besides a paragraph by itself, no left edge or right edge or what so ever. These are not major flaws, but it takes the fun out of it for me personally because I'll have to guess what she really means. I would suggest "Handwriting Analysis : Putting It to Work for You" or "Handwriting Analysis: the complete basic book." Both books have plenty of examples and the latter has also some little comic figures. Also, "Grapho-Therapeutics: the pen and pencil therapy" is another good basic that I would pick instead of signature for success.

Using the Space Shaper panel, with its three-dimensional buttons that include a cube, a cone, and a pyramid, the captain and the pup wage a battle against a meteor shower, poison gas, a flying saucer, and a galactic beast. Just as the two are about to land safely, a beam of light floods their spaceship, and an open bedroom door reveals the true source of this journey-a child's late-night, wondrous imagination with the help of paper, scissors, and Scotch tape. The bold cartoon art in deep, bright colors draws readers into this fun and exciting story that is a vehicle for learning to recognize and define geometric shapes. The concluding reinforcement strategies and activities are very good. A good choice as a read-aloud or for independent reading.

Piloting through space the pair encounters several dangerous situations, which they avert by pushing one of six three-dimensional buttons on their instrument panel, ejecting a corresponding Spacer Shape that does the job. When an ominous gas invades the ship, for instance, Captain Invincible pushes a conically shaped button, releasing a cone that sucks up the gas through its circular base. The glossy Jetson-like cartoon illustrations have high entertainment value, the shapes are clearly identifiable, and the story gives the math lesson an out-of-this-world appeal. It is a very good attempt at an 'all a young (or older) woman ...

This book is now quite old (copyright 1991) but the information it contains is still perfectly valid. It is a very good attempt at an 'all a young (or older) woman needs to know about the 'mechanics of her reproductive system' book. As well as the usual 'straight out of the High School Biology book' stuff regarding menstrual cycles, it goes into considerable (but not too deep) depth about sexually transmissible diseases, how abortions are performed, self examination, other medical procedures such as hysterectomy, vaginal reconstruction, tubal ligation and even vasectomy. This could be a good book for a mother to give to a daughter in her mid-teens. The daughter would keep it on her book shelf and browse it as and when she feels the need. The many photos of women's genitals are probably reassuring to a young woman that what her genitals look like is normal, but it also means this is not a book to leave on the coffee table, or have in a high school library.
My only criticism of the book would be that a lot of the black and white drawings would have been easier to understand if they had been colour.
The target audience for this book is very specific, but if you are in that audience, this is a very good book.

Worth every penny

From the amazing illustrations by then-artist, now-nurse Suzann Gage of everything important to know about women's bodies and reproductive health--from cervical and breast self exams and the effect areas of various forms of birth control, to an "inner view of a woman's breasts" that shows how "milk secretion [is] like a shower head" (wish I'd seen that before I breast-fed!), a wonderful vulva/hymen/cervix photo gallery, and radical redefinitions of the biology of the clitoris--this is a fantastic book for any girl or woman who wants to know how her body works. It was a powerful publication in 1981 and it's just as good today. Further, it's a reminder that the 1970s nurtured a flourishing of activists who believed in self/adult education, and produced widely accessible and useful publications. The book should be updated and reissued, but until then, buy the original publishing--it's worth the cost.

Ask women when you want to know about female pleasure, birth and contraception,

As a feminist sex educator this book is the closest I'll ever get to having a Sex Bible about how a woman's body functions. Whenever I have a question I go to my bookshelf and start reading "A New View." These women are among the many unsung heroes. Their book was originally published by Simon & Schuster but at the end of the first year, one of the "good old boys" finally noticed they described how women could easily administer their own abortions at home with some thin plastic tubing and a suction pump. The book was GONE in a flash! I"ll let you figure out why.
